Balmullo Community Council Meeting (Held on Zoom) – Draft Minutes for April 2021

Record of decisions at the meeting on Monday 12th April 2021

Present: Colin Finlay (in the chair), Sue Smith(secretary), Val Kirk(treasurer), Andrew Donald (vice chair). Peter Lomas, Josh Martin, Mike Ashburn, Hilda Hynd, Sheryl Morris, Mike Ashburn, Cllr Jonny Tepp

We were given a presentation by Brian Rapley, development manager of Scotland, Hour Glass. This is an organisation dedicated to making safer ageing and stopping elder abuse. Presentation on Facebook page.

Minutes of last meeting: The minutes for 8th March were approved. Prop: Colin Finlay Sec: Andrew Donald. There were no matters arising from minutes not covered elsewhere .

Cllr Bill Connor’s Report: No report. Bill unwell.

Cllr Jonny Tepp’s Report: Report appended. Greenbelt have agreed to keep the condition of Burnside Path under review. Part of Burnside is falling into the Burn. Jonny will refer this on. Concerns about house parties and use of nitrous oxide cans should be referred to the police on 101. Litter – there is as possibility of litter cams. If holding a litter pick the council will uplift the collected waste.

Treasurer’s Report Balance: £4389.87. Orders for plants due.

Incoming communications: Police report appended. Two, uncontentious planning applications were approved with conditions.

Pharmacy: No update

Newsletter/Website: The winner of the Amazon voucher was drawn, agreement was made to contact the winner and announce on the website and Facebook. The colour and font on the website were discussed and how often different areas should be updated.

AOB: Colin and Mike will order plants for the tubs to follow the spring bulbs and it is hoped that several members of the Community Council will help with the planting.
Susan will try to find people to look after tubs once she has a list from Colin of those required.
